Advocacy Toolbox resources for legislative session

Connecticut’s 2026 legislative session starts this Wednesday, February 4th and healthcare will be a hot topic this year. Just a few of the issues that will be debated include affordable private insurance, federal Medicaid cuts, private equity protections, and supporting public health through the federal cuts.
For anyone advocating this session, we have tons of resources in our CT Health Advocacy Toolbox. Updated monthly, the site includes 59 pages of tools, skills, resources, and advice. The site covers legislative, administrative, budget, communications, research, and working in coalitions and collaborations.

Two popular features are If You Only Have Five Minutes, for busy people who just want to dip their toe into advocacy, and the Decision Tree, if you have no idea where to start on your issue.
Unlike other Toolboxes, ours does not advocate any specific policy positions. We will never tell you what to say. Use and customize our tools for your issue.
If you have ideas for things to add, please send feedback through the form at the bottom of every page.
