September 4th all patients and groups are invited to a webinar to give input on ICER’s Value Assessment Framework methods. The non-profit Institute for Clinical and Economic Review (ICER) is the nation’s leading independent analyst of evidence on the effectiveness and value of drugs and other treatments. ICER produces public reports used by Medicare, Medicaid, private insurers and others to promote affordability of treatments that really work. Click here for a real-world description of ICER and how their reports help assure that we are getting effective care that we can afford. ICER is updating the methodology they use for the reports and are eagerly soliciting patients’ experience and needs. Proposed updates include expanding use of real-world evidence, incorporating important benefits into the evaluations, and reaffirming their commitment to using a variety of cost-effectiveness outcome measures. The webinar will describe ICER’s mission (what it is and what it isn’t), the rationale behind the updates, and how feedback they’ve received informed the updates.  Click here to register for the webinar.
