It’s time to check in again on healthcare wages and employment in Connecticut. The analysis focused on selected highly trained and well-paid categories as of May 2024. The data is from the US Bureau of Labor Statistics database.

The highlights:

  • Registered nurses are by far the largest employment category at 39,020/year; more than all the other categories combined
  • Connecticut had almost as many Advanced Practice Nurse Practitioners plus Physician Assistants (8,050) as Physicians (8,580)
  • Physicians make the highest wages, comprising all of the top 10 categories
  • All but one category of the selected healthcare workers makes over $100,000/year (dental hygienists averaged $96,090/year)
