CT Healthcare Jobs Pay Very Well

Among the top 12 highest-earning Connecticut occupations last year, 11 are doctors, dentists or nurses, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics. Chief Executives is the only non-healthcare occupation to crack the top 12 list. Lowest paid healthcare workers included Personal care assistants (20th from the bottom) and Home health aides (28th from the bottom). Overall, last year Connecticut healthcare workers (practitioners and support occupations) averaged $74,409 in wages, 24% higher than the average Connecticut worker ($60,780). One in every eleven Connecticut workers was employed in healthcare in 2018. Connecticut healthcare practitioners’ average annual wages ($94,980) ranked ninth in the nation, just behind Alaska, California, Hawaii, District of Columbia, and Massachusetts.
