More concerns about YNHH, community health center plans for New Haven primary care

A letter from the City of New Haven’s Department of Services for Persons with Disabilities to the state and new Yale Daily News article and one from the New Haven Register highlight transportation issues with YNHH and the two city community health centers’ plans for primary care. Plans to use Uber to transport patients to a distant site is not feasible, according to the letter signed by disability and legal advocates. According to the Yale Daily News article, Uber is already facing lawsuits unrelated to this proposal for unwillingness to accommodate disabled patients. Beyond transportation, other concerns raised by patients, advocates, and community members include higher state Medicaid costs, lack of access to family planning, pharmacy and other services, and significantly higher costs for uninsured patients.
